Staff International has appointed Francesco Tombolini as head of business development and licenses. It is a key role in the company that develops, produces and sells under license the labels owned by OTB, among them Diesel, Maison Margiela, Marni and Viktor & Rolf.

Francesco Tombolini - Camera Buyer Italia

Tombolini, an economics graduate from Milan’s Bocconi University, spent a career spanning nearly 40 years in luxury and fashion, working with some of Italy’s leading names, like Armani and Gucci.

After cutting his professional teeth at a number of labels, Tombolini joined the Giorgio Armani group in the 1990s as commercial director of Emporio Armani and Armani Jeans. He then moved to Gucci as sales director, only to return to Armani in 2004, appointed to the role of general manager of Emporio. Four years later, he began collaborating with various investment funds, supporting them in their activity with fashion labels like Vilebrequin and Jeckerson.

Following a stint at Dirk Bikkembergs, in 2014 Tombolini joined Italian fashion e-tailer Yoox, where he notably worked as COO. In 2018, he began again to work as consultant for various investment funds and corporations. For the last three years, Tombolini has also been the president of Camera Buyer Italia, the Italian association of fashion buyers, before Giacomo Santucci succeeded him in spring.
