Off-White opens on London's Sloane Street

Published

Off-white has opened its first standalone London store with a debut at 32 Sloane Street in Knightsbridge. The 344 sq m space featured both the brand’s mens’s and womenswear.

It’s an important development for the high-end label that until now has only been available in the UK via its webstore or through physical locations in handful of luxury department stores.

Sloane Street is just a stone’s throw from both Harrods and Harvey Nichols and is usually a luxury tourist magnet, although foot traffic has suffered of late due to the pandemic. But it remains one of London’s top luxury fashion destinations.

The look and feel of the new store was developed "in special collaboration and dialogue between spatial designer Andrew Taylor Parr and [the] Off-White design team”.

The company said the new shop “embraces warm, feminine tones, characterised by curved lines and monocolour sandy concrete resin on the floor and walls. Illusionistic curved movements intertwine the walls and flooring – one becomes the other”.

We’re told that display designs are “geometric and strong”, consisting of “precious travertine marble and concrete, providing for a complementing contrast”.

The centre of the store features a special plinths installation created by Parr and inspired by Brancusi sculptures. These evolve into racks and a seating area.

The company said the installation comes from brutalist architectural design and that it contrasts with the “warm, feminine and soft atmosphere of the store environment”.
