She is expected to step down at the end of August to focus on her health.

Claire Davenport has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of the e-commerce platform, which connects online shoppers with independent businesses selling gifts and other design-led products.

Darren Shapland, chairman of Notonthehighstreet, said: “Barrie has led the transformation of the company over the last 15 months and has significantly increased momentum in the business.

“Through Barrie’s leadership, the business now has a strong foundation for growth, supported by a skilled leadership team, with experienced additions including a new CTO, CFO and CPO. The board would like to thank Barrie for her expert leadership and we wish her our heartfelt best as she focuses on her health.”

Claire Davenport, who is taking over the reins on 27 August, was previously CEO of HelloFresh UK, the country’s largest recipe box company. Her career has also previously included several stints at other internet companies including VoucherCodes.co.uk and Skype.

Notonthehighstreet said she has “an extensive background of successfully scaling businesses and disrupting markets”. As new CEO, Davenport will continue to build on Barrie Seidenberg’s plans with a view to modernise the retailer’s technology platform and strengthen its ecommerce foundations.
