Not Just A Label, the online network of independent designers, is evolving its business-to-business focus with the launch of a new direct-to-consumer e-commerce platform.

Launching on July 22 in partnership with Singapore-based Techsembly, the platform will unite Not Just A Label’s directory of over 40,000 emerging designers with consumers around the world.

It will target shoppers who want to know what they wear is sustainably and ethically manufactured, and delivered with direct transparency from the designer.

“Allowing our pool of designers to sell direct to the consumer is the future to fashion design, to commerce, to trade shows, to fashion weeks, to unsustainable practices,” Stefan Siegel, founder and CEO of NJAL said in a blog post. “NJAL is the future of fashion.”

“With a pivot from B2B to a B2C, NJAL will revolutionise the global fashion industry as we know it,” Amy Read, co-founder and CEO of Techsemby, added.

The launch of the new e-commerce site addresses new challenges facing the fashion industry following the Covid-19 pandemic, with the closure of department stores, cancellation of fashion weeks and wholesale disruption threatening the future of many brands.

Not Just A Label said it is in “a unique position to lead the way forward”, having represented thousands of independent designers for more than 10 years. Founded by Stefan Siegel in 2008, the company has the potential to mobilise more than 4 million styles from 40,000 designers.
