Danish fashion brand and creative studio Norse Projects has teamed up with iconic boot brand Dr Martens.

It's the first time the two labels have worked together and they've created a re-worked, unique version of Dr. Martens’ 3-Eye Steed shoe. The Steed "is manufactured using the original art of industrial manufacture process used ever since the first pair of Dr. Martens rolled off the production line on the 1st of April, 1960 in the Cobbs Lane Factory in Wollaston, England," Dr Martens says.

Norse Projects' version references a military-inspired, utilitarian aesthetic and features an upper comprised of British water resistant Repello suede, along with a custom padded tongue in ripstop nylon. It comes in burgundy, black and white and features interior nylon straps between tongue and insole, combining formal men’s footwear with the ideals of durability and comfort. The shoe will launch on May 7.

Last winter Norse Projects opened its first womenswear store in Copenhagen, timing it with the launch of its first womenswear collection. Dr Martens recently opened new stores in Brooklyn, New York, and Derby, UK.
