Nicki Minaj fronts H&M Holiday 2017 campaign

Ready-to-wear clothing brand H&M revealed on Tuesday that singer and producer Nicki Minaj -- known for her extravagant style -- is the new face of its Holiday campaign. 

Minaj follows in the footsteps of Katy Perry, who fronted the brand's Holiday campaign in 2015, then by Adrien Brody in 2016. The Swedish clothing giant hasn't revealed much about the upcoming campaign, but a first shot shows the "Anaconda" singer on a carousel swing set wearing a voluminous dress and a top embellished with shimmering details.

Minaj, who is expected to release a new album in 2018, has notched up a string of hits and won a host of awards (BET Hip Hop Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, BET Awards, American Music Awards, etc.). The artist is also famous for her videos and extravagant attire -- sometimes provocative but always original.

The rapper also fronts M.A.C Cosmetics and starred in a Roberto Cavalli campaign in 2015, but her appearances in the fashion world remain rare. This first campaign for H&M is likely to be hotly anticipated.
