Flemingate shopping centre enhances its tenant mix with the opening of a new independent fashion store selling contemporary men’s and women’s clothing.

Verb has taken a 1,550 sq ft unit at the Beverly shopping centre

Called Verb, the brand is founded by Lee Wardell, who previously managed the popular Leonard Silver Menswear in Beverley. With 35 years of experience, his new venture is an independent fashion brand selling menswear pieces from brands including  Florentino; Gibson London; Pearly King; Brooks Taverner; Mac Jeans; Alberto Jeans; Goodwin Smith Shoes, as well as an expanding range of womenswear.

The Verb shop at Flemingate extends over 1,550 sq ft and sits next to fellow independent retailer and jeweller, Guest and Philips. The interior is furnished with leather Chesterfield seating and features striking industrial lighting fixtures. A display centrepiece showcases some of the top brands available.

"We're delighted that Verb has opened at Flemingate.  Lee brings his extensive knowledge and experience in men's retail to the centre, together with leading brands of menswear and womenswear," said David Donkin, property director at Wykeland Group.

"Verb will give customers a taste of something out of the ordinary which will complement Flemingate's strong fashion offering and mix of high street and independent outlets.  It adds to Beverley's ever-growing appeal as a retail destination and a great place to visit."

Other retail brands with stores at the shopping centre include Debenhams, H&M, River Island, Peacocks, Superdrug, and multi-brand retailer Outfit.
