New fashion accelerator launches in London’s Hackney Wick

Shared workspace firm The Trampery has announced the launch of a six-month accelerator programme for emerging fashion brands in East London.

Developed in partnership with the London Legacy Development Corporation, the Sustainable Fashion Accelerator is a bespoke business programme focusing on helping growth-stage fashion companies integrate sustainability into their business models.

The project is led by sustainability expert Vanessa Podmore, who oversaw supply chain operations at Burberry and Jimmy Choo before establishing a sustainability consulting firm two years ago.

The first cohort of companies and individuals participating in the project has already been announced. Over the next three years, more than thirty businesses will be supported through four six-month-long programmes.

The accelerator is located in Fish Island Village, Hackney Wick in East London. The London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), which is funding the project, said Fish Island Village is a key project within Hackney Wick's Creative Enterprise Zone, and will be the largest campus of fashion studios in London.
