‘The Runaway’, opened in partnership with social fitness network Strava, is part of New Balance’s Everybody’s Race campaign, which provides 120 days of motivation and advice in the run-up to race day.

The pub features a fully stocked bar, dartboard, gym and weights area, and changing room and lockers. Together with Strava, New Balance is launching four challenges giving runners the opportunity to log their miles and then trade them for pints at the bar.

Samantha Matthews, senior marketing manager at New Balance UK & Ireland, said: “We’re excited to open our very first New Balance pub and look forward to welcoming runners to the bar to exchange their miles for pints.

“The Runaway pub brings our Everybody’s Race campaign to life and aims to empower runners throughout their weeks of training, offering an escape and reward when needed and a hub for the running community to come together and support each other.”

The activation is designed to support the Everybody’s Race campaign ahead of the Virgin Money London Marathon, which attracted over 414,000 applicants for the 2019 version. Over 40,000 people will be taking part on 28 April.
