Harrods, the iconic London department store, has welcomed a new shop-in-shop: a conceptual store for British fashion designer Neil Barrett, designed by well-known architect Zaha Hadid.
The store is located on the lower ground floor in the Contemporary Collections department and measures 480 ft². Harrods says it "marks one of the final additions to the redevelopment of the Harrods Menswear Contemporary department, which now spans over 34,000 ft² of lower ground floor retail space."
The shop-in-shop is also an important landmark in Barrett's retail expansion. Hadid's design "displays a unique relationship between fluid and Cartesian, solid and void, sharp and soft materiality; paralleling Barrett's balanced combinations of contrasting influences in his collections," Harrods commented.
“I am really excited about the opening at Harrods. It’s such an institution in London and they believed in me since my first collection. Customers will be able to discover both my pre-collections and show collections within an environment designed specifically to house the Neil Barrett wardrobe,” Barrett said.
