Musgrave, an award-winning journalist, joined UKFT in January 2010 to lead the re-organisation of its activities, including the move to its new headquarters in Bloomsbury. During his tenure Musgrave also launched the innovative Let's Make it Here campaign to promote UK manufacturing and created an all-party parliamentary group to represent the industry's views to government and legislators.

Peter Lucas, UKFT chairman, confirmed that Adam Mansell, chief operating officer, and Paul Alger, director of international affairs, supported by UKFT's two deputy chairmen John Miln and John Wilson, will together with himself continue the work of the association until a successor is appointed.

UKFT guides and advises its members on aspects of running a business and supplying clothing and knitwear to the global marketplace. Through its export division, UKFT Exports, it gives help and advice on how to achieve sales in overseas markets.
