Munich Fabric Start wants to strengthen its Blue Zone and increase new business. The Munich fabric trade show has recently created the post of director in charge of the 'Blue Zone', its area dedicated to jeans and sportswear, and of 'New Business'.

Panos Sofianos. - MUNICh FABRIC START

Panos Sofianos, a denim specialist, was appointed to the posts. Sofianos has worked for 11 years at Hellenic Fabrics, owner of a denim factory in Greece, before joining the Spanish group Royo, specialised in denim and a regular at the Blue Zone.

As Creative Director for Royo, Sofianos has developed projects with G-Star, Hugo Boss, Brax, Gardeur, Tommy Hilfiger and Scotch & Soda.

Besides the Blue Zone, which hosts about 70 exhibitors, the manager will be in charge of the Key House, a new 2,500 m² area located between the MOC, the fabric show's venue, and the Zenith concert hall, home to the Blue Zone. The Key House is intended as an area for creativity and innovation.

The next edition of Munich Fabric Start is scheduled from 30th August to 1st September. View, the show organiser's more directional fabric show, managed by Wolfgang and Sebastian Klinder, will be held on 5th and 6th July.
