The Place London, a high-end multibrand fashion store first established in London’s Hyde Park area in 2015, with a store on Connaught Street, has now opened its third branch, at 8 rue de l’Odéon, Paris.

The Place London is the brainchild of Simon Burstein, former president of the Paris couturiers' union chamber and son of the founders of the Browns fashion chain in the UK. In 1982, Burstein opened Browns Homme in Paris (notably distributing the then highly popular label New Man), and was also in charge for over 20 years of Parisian label Sonia Rykiel – having also married Nathalie Rykiel.
After Browns was sold to Farfetch in 2015, Burstein stepped down from the role of CEO of the family business, and dedicated his energies to a new concept store, The Place London. In his words, the store “mirrors the British capital’s style, [it’s] a temple to individuality and innovation, featuring quality labels for active women.” Burstein opened a second store dedicated to menswear a stone's throw from the first branch, again on Connaught Street, and has now returned to Paris, on the left bank of the river Seine, having opened a third branch of The Place London a few days ago.

The premises, with an attractive Art Déco façade, have been renovated to look part lounge, part library, and showcase about ten labels. The range is eclectic and directional, featuring romantic embroidery by artist Alice Archer (popular in London too), Belgian label Sophie d’Hoore, Ukrainian label Poustovit, handbags and jewellery by Ioanna Solaio, footwear by Laurence Dacade and jewellery by Loulou de la Falaise

In a nod to Browns, which used to distribute New Man, The Place London’s Parisian store also presents a few items by the label now owned by the Sun City Fashion Group: a model of velvet, jeans-style trousers for men and women in five bright colours, including fuchsia and electric blue, and a matching sport jacket. 
The Parisian store also features Leathersmith of London, a producer of leather goods and stationery originally specialised in leather bookbinding, which turned into a lifestyle brand with the help of Burstein himself.
