Moss Bros picks agency for organic search strategy after test period doubled search

Moss Bros has appointed MediaVision to lead its “organic search strategy”, in order to accelerate the menswear retailer’s ambitious growth plans.

The appointment comes after a successful three-month trial which saw a 112% year-on-year growth in organic traffic, Moss Bros said.

Under the new agreement, MediaVision will deliver a full suite of services including SEO, content and digital PR “to build on the brand’s organic performance”.

The partnership comes at a key time for the retailer. After introducing its new casualwear range, Moss Bros said it wanted to extend its brand visibility to its ideal customer demographic “by focusing on targeted, digital channels”.

MediaVision was tasked with increasing traffic, revenue, and awareness “in a crowded marketplace, while still staying relevant to its formalwear audience”.

MediaVision “over-delivered” during the trial period, “more than matching the retailer’s ambitious goals” using a beta version of Metis, its own SEO growth platform, “twinned with clear content and digital PR strategies”.

Andrew Roscoe, Head of Brand & Creative at Moss Bros, said: “We know that there is a significant renaissance in demand for formalwear and MediaVision have shown that they can put us front and centre of that demand, driving customers to our channels.”

Matthew Platts, Managing Partner at MediaVision, added: “In the current difficult trading conditions, prioritising investment in SEO can give brands a competitive advantage in a crowded marketplace. The results from our initial trial for Moss Bros speak for themselves, and we are confident that via our unique “technology plus people” approach to SEO will ensure that one of the UK’s best-known names in menswear will continue to thrive.”
