Monki to open Newcastle concept store

Monki is preparing to open another concept store in the UK, where it said it has found a “strong fanbase”.

The H&M womenswear brand has selected the Intu Eldon Square shopping centre in Newcastle for its latest opening, which will join six further Monki locations in Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester and London.

Bringing the Monki universe to life will be a selection of playful design elements including light drops, reflective bubbles and disco balls. The store will occupy two stories or approximately 3,700 square feet.

“We are excited to announce our further expansion with Newcastle,” said Jennie Dahlin Hansson, who is the brand’s managing director.

“We have such a strong fanbase in the UK and look forward to continuing to share the Monki experience with even more of our UK community.”

On opening day, Monki will host a launch party with local DJs, surprise treats and a ‘smile discount’, with Newcastle customers receiving a 20% discount all day just for smiling at the store staff.

Founded in 2006, Monki operates 120 stores in 15 markets and has an online presence in 19 countries.
