Missguided links with charity for new 'nudes' shapewear campaign

Missguided has unveiled its latest campaign following a search launched a month ago with charity Models of Diversity to find campaign stars.

It chose seven out of 2,500 applicants to model in the shoot “alongside other inspirational people” for a campaign dubbed However You Nude. It’s designed to support the firm’s new “inclusive” shapewear collection. 

The company said the powerful collection “pushes boundaries to rethink the ‘norm’, through captivating imagery and video, it introduces a collection that honours every shade and shape”.

It certainly marks a step forward from the situation not that many years ago when ‘nude’ was often used as a name for a pale beige, reflecting an obsession with white skin tones as the norm.

Missguided said it wants to "redefine what the word nude stands for. So, say bye to beige - whatever your shade, Missguided have got you covered”.

The models chosen for the campaign include diversity champions such as trans advocate Dani St James, and Joy Cooper, who’s an advocate for people with ileostomy bags.

The 78-piece full collection features underwear, shapewear and loungewear in eight different shades and ranges from size 4 to 24 with prices starting from £5 to £39.
