In a ruddy sign of renewed health for the Italian fashion capital, Milan Fashion Week has added five new houses to its official calendar, which was released Friday afternoon.

The next season, scheduled from Tuesday, Sept.17 to Monday, Sept. 23 will see Milan runway debuts for German powerhouse Boss; UK label Peter Pilotto; Simona Marziali's MRZ, the 2018 winner of Who Is On Next; DROMe by Marianna Rosati; and Shuting Qiu, a Chinese-born designer and graduate of Antwerp Royal Academy.

All told, there will be 58 major catwalks shows or proper presentations in Milan this season, debuting on Tuesday night with the opening of the Milano Moda Donna Fashion Hub.

The calendar, which was released by the Camera della Moda, Italian fashion’s governing body, also underlines the continually growing importance of co-ed shows. There are seven on this autumn’s schedule including Atsushi Nakashima, Boss, Bottega Veneta, Fila, GCDS, Gucci and Missoni.

“Milan is becoming more and more attractive and interesting. We are unveiling a strong calendar, thanks to the important commitment of our key brands and to the presence of International labels that chose Milan to present their collections,” Camera President Carlo Capasa told FashionNetwork.com.

“We are very happy and excited to have Peter Pilotto, Boss and DROMe join our calendar beside many new brands. I am sure that the next edition of the Milan Fashion Week will be strong and sustainable!” enthused Capasa.

Several houses, such as Act N.1, Tiziano Guardini and Marco Rambaldi will be able to show thanks to support from the Camera and CNMI Fashion Trust, while MRZ, Shuting Qiu and Ultrachic are aided exclusively by the Camera.

The Milano Moda Donna Fashion Hub soirée will take place in the Spazio Cavallerizze in the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology, during which Gilberto Calzolari will be presented with the Franca Sozzani GCC Award for Best Emerging Designer at the 2018 Green Carpet Fashion Awards Italia. Subsequently, the Spazio Cavallerizze will become a showroom for the collections of young designers during the season.

The season will climax on Sunday night with the Green Carpet Fashion Awards, which are traditionally held in La Scala.
