Couture millinery brand Merve Bayindir has opened its first flagship store in London. Located in Crawford Place, Marylebone, the debut store “reflects the luxury brand's approach to design, innovation, and sustainability”.

Marylebone has proved increasingly appealing for high-end brands in recent periods as the neighbourhood feel of the area — as well as its close proximity to the key shopping streets of Oxford, Bond and Regent Streets — help to drive footfall higher after a period of sharply lower footfall due to the pandemic.

With the important spring/summer events season under way, the brand’s entire collection is displayed “in a very stylish setting where the pieces feel right at home”. The store also comprises an appointment-only space to discuss bespoke orders, or meet and greet the designer. Private viewings and consultations can be booked.

Founded by mother-daughter duo Yasemin Bayindir and Merve Bayindir in 2011, the brand has produced a range of collections from “occasionwear to bridal to show-stopping pieces” with the label’s hats and headpieces “fixtures at events such as the Royal Ascot and high-profile weddings”.

The brand is also stocked on Net-a-Porter and in the Fenwick department store on London’s Bond Street.
