Menswear retailer End sees profits surge in 2017, plans London flagship

Published
Apr 6, 2018

End, a fashion retailer selling cult menswear brands, has been named as one of the fastest-growing companies in the UK after seeing profits soar by 139% in 2017.

End

The men’s clothing company has two standalone stores, in Newcastle and Glasgow, which regularly attract long queues of people looking to buy rare fashion items or new releases.

With a mix of styles from brands including Comme des Garçons, Gosha Rubchinskiy, Kenzo, Stone Island and Off-White, it has built a reputation as one of the finest menswear destinations in the UK.

This has meant that profits at the company have grown by an average of 73% a year over the last three years. In 2017, profits hit £16.2 million on sales of £69.7m.

This week, End was the sole company in the northeast of England to feature on the annual Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100. It appeared with businesses including Pret A Manger and PureGym in the ranking of the companies with the fastest-growing profits over three years.

Terry Jones, partner and head of the northeast at BDO, said: “These high-growth, high-energy and highly-entrepreneurial companies will be the difference between success and failure in our post-Brexit economic future. These businesses are playing their part by recording strong levels of revenue and profit growth and by creating jobs.”

Building on its success, the menswear retailer plans to open a new flagship store in London’s Soho this year.
