The brand, favoured by high-profile celebrities including Taylor Swift, Julia Roberts, Queen Rania of Jordan and Melania Trump, will open on Multrees Walk, which is home to Scotland’s only Harvey Nichols and Louis Vuitton, as well as Victoria Beckham, Gucci, Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney stores.

“We are delighted that international fashion brand Max Mara have chosen Multrees Walk for their second UK standalone store after Bond Street,” Steve Spray, fund manager at Multrees Walk owner LaSalle Investment Management told The Scotsman.

Edinburgh’s East End is set to get a boost once the £800m new St James Quarter delivers 850,000 square feet of retail space (including 85 new shops), up to 150 new homes, a five-star W hotel and three new public squares in October 2020.

The redevelopment, led by TH Real Estate, is understood to be one of the largest and most significant regeneration projects under way in the UK.
