Returning for the second year running, M&S will sponsor the Womenswear Award with a £5,000 prize for the winning graduate and an additional £1,000 prize for his or her university.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Marks & Spencer again for 2017. They offer fantastic guidance, advice and opportunities to our graduates and to have them sponsor our top Womenswear Award is very special,” said Martyn Roberts, managing and creative director of Graduate Fashion Week.

The event showcases the work of top fashion graduates from both UK universities and international institutions. Other sponsors include Clarks, Asos, TU at Sainsbury’s, Debenhams, Boohoo and Bonmarché.

As the headline sponsor, Marks & Spencer will host a branded hub within the sponsorship floor, where graduates will be able to visit with their portfolios to obtain advice and apply for recruitment opportunities.

Additionally, the British retailer will host four talks within the GFW Talk Live! Studio. Open to all attendees, the talks will explore topics such as the design lifecycle, sustainability in fashion and the launch of a collection.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring Graduate Fashion Week again and look forward to meeting the incredible range of talented graduates and seeing their inspirational work. The UK has a unique position in the world of fashion design and it is vital for all of us involved to support new creativity and talent,” said Jo Jenkins, Director of Womenswear, Lingerie & Beauty.

The Gala Awards Show will take place on 7 June.
