Marcolin wins Max Mara eyewear deal, link-up starts for SS21

Published
Sep 14, 2020

Eyewear giant Marcolin Group has announced the signing of a licensing agreement for the design, production and worldwide distribution of Max Mara sunglasses and eyeglasses.

Marcolin has won the license for Max Mara eyewear

It’s a five-year deal that starts on November 1 and follows Marcolin winning the eyewear contracts for Max Mara-owned brands Sportmax and Max&Co. The products will be available in-store and online next year.

Although the partnership doesn’t start until November, the first fruits of the link-up will be seen in advance of that at the Max Mara SS21 show in Milan on September 24.

The styles will include “geometric shapes, a harmonious dialogue between materials, and chromatic combinations of soft nuances,” we’re told.

Marcolin’s marketing director Matteo Blandi said of all this: “The entry of the Max Mara brand in the Marcolin Group portfolio enriches our product offering addressed to the womenswear market. Max Mara is an Italian luxury brand synonymous with excellence [and] internationally recognised. We are proud to contribute to further advance and strengthen the brand's positioning and image for the eyewear category.”

Max Mara creative director Ian Griffiths added: “Max Mara has always been committed to women, to make them feel at their best, to make them shine in every occasion, through constant research for the highest quality. The secret of quality is to consider every single technical feature as an essential element of the creative process. The new partnership with Marcolin Group will contribute to ensure the highest quality and design standards for Max Mara eyewear.”
