NEW YORK - The massive snowstorm hanging over New England was blamed Friday for messing up the schedule of two hotly awaited Marc Jacobs shows at New York Fashion Week.

The Jacobs collection had been scheduled for Monday but will now take place on Thursday, the designer's team said, blaming "the snow storm in the US and production problems."

A second show, Marc by Marc Jacobs, was moved forward from Tuesday to Monday.

A big 24-hour snowstorm was expected to blanket America's northeast with between one and two feet of snow, causing widespread airport and road delays.

Marc Jacobs is one of the main trend setters at New York Fashion Week, which got under way Thursday.
