The worlds between art and fashion can often be spanned in just one step, as proven by the Wallace Collection's newest exhibition. Open from June 10, "An Enquiring Mind: Manolo Blahnik at the Wallace Collection" is the result of a close collaboration between the Wallace's director Xavier Bray and Manolo Blahnik, who has always held a special place in his creative process for the works of the London museum.

"The Wallace Collection has been a point of reference for me since my early days in London," said Blahnik in a statement. "It was -- and remains -- one of my favourite museums with the most refined selection of art. I am incredibly humbled and honoured to be a part of the project and have my work displayed at the museum."

Over the course of two months, art and fashion lovers will be given the opportunity to eavesdrop on a dialogue between the famous designer's shoes and some of the museum's best-known paintings, sculptures and fine furniture. The aim is to establish a parallel between the ancient and the modern, as well as craftsmanship and art, all while highlighting Manolo Blahnik's creative process.

Rooms dedicated to Commedia dell'arte, the Rococo, and Spanish art, will underscore one theme from the history of the Manolo Blahnik house and its namesake designer's sources of inspiration. Among the highlights of the show, guests will be able to take in the pastel pink shoes Blahnik designed for Sofia Coppola's film "Marie Antoinette," in dialogue with Jean-Honoré Fragonard "The Swing."
