Mango recruits French footballer Antoine Griezmann as new face
Mango has recruited the French footballer Antoine Griezmann to promote its men's line. The Atlético de Madrid player will bring the Spanish brand’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection to life. The 2018 World Cup champion has "that casual, relaxed and authentic essence that the brand seeks to convey through its urban and cosmopolitan collections,” according to Mango.
Griezmann becomes the new face of Mango Man, a line created in 2008, posing in a campaign that will be revealed in its entirety soon. The first snapshot shows the player with a poker face, clad in a white T-shirt, a V-neck sweater, and a beige trench coat. The brand aims to underline the broad range of its men’s line, offering everything from formal suits to more casual ensembles.
The 30-year-old Frenchman is not the first soccer player to collaborate with the Barcelona-based retail chain, which was founded in 1984. Zinedine Zidane and Gerard Piqué have acted as muses for Mango in the past too. Griezmann has also been the face of Gillette, PMU, and Sport 2000.
Mango, which has decided to suspend its activity in Russia due to the war in Ukraine, generated a turnover of €1.842 billion in 2020 (down 22.4% compared to 2019), 42% of which was generated online.
