Mango expands in US, expects it to be top 5 market by 2024

Published
Oct 14, 2022

Mango rarely seems to be out of the news at the moment with the Spanish fashion retail giant opening new stores in multiple markets. The latest are in the US.

Mango

It has just opened a new store in Miami, located on Lincoln Road, one of the busiest shopping streets in the country, which houses over 200 stores and brands.

And by year end, it will “consolidate its brand in the heart of Florida, where it plans to open three new stores, in order to close the year with 10 stores in the country”.

Its goal is to have 40 US stores by 2024 and “for the country to become one of the group's top five markets in terms of turnover”.

In the first nine months of this year, its online channel has also boosted its US presence and now makes up more than half of the firm’s sales in the country. That should rise to 70% by 2024. The company sells online in America via Mango.com, Nordstrom and Macy’s.

Daniel López, Mango’s Global Expansion Director, said the opening of the Lincoln Road store “marks a starting point for the expansion plan the company will implement in the next few months”.

The next Florida store will debut in November in Aventura Mall, the main shopping centre in Miami and one of the 10 largest shopping centres in the US.

Next month it will also open in the Florida Mall shopping centre near Orlando international airport and the Walt Disney World Resort theme park. Then in December it will arrive at Miami International shopping centre, located close to Miami international airport.

2023 will see it opening in Boca Raton, as well as extending its presence towards the west of the country with new stores in Georgia, Texas and California.

The company has been in the US since 2006 when it opened a flagship on New York’s Fifth Avenue.
