Colette is planning to open its first UK store in London’s Westfield Stratford this month, with the new signing in Manchester becoming the brand’s second location in the country.

The company, founded by ‘Queen of Bags’ Colette Hayman, targets 16-35 year olds with trend-driven accessories and jewellery. The Manchester store will occupy a space of 2,200 sq ft.

Meanwhile, Footasylum is set to expand its existing store at the centre from 4,700 sq ft to 7,200 sq ft, and has signed a deal to take a further 2,700 sq ft unit located directly above its current store. The new standalone unit will be used for the brand’s new Footasylum Women’s concept.

Leading optician Vision Express has also relocated within the centre, investing in a brand new store and signing up to a 10-year lease.

Additionally, Victoria’s Secret and Victoria’s Secret PINK are expected to arrive at the shopping centre later this year.

Colin Flinn, Regional Managing Director at Intu, said: "The fact that Colette has chosen Manchester Arndale for its first store outside of London and Footasylum will be locating its new women’s concept at the centre is clear evidence that Manchester Arndale remains one of the top trading locations for international brands entering the UK market and established brands looking to launch exciting new offers.

The shopping centre is visited by 41 million shoppers each year. The retail line-up has been further boosted by the opening of a Paul Smith store at the nearby boutique destination New Cathedral Street.
