Maje wants to bulk up its fashion credentials. That’s at least what its latest recruitment seems to say. While Judith Milgrom, who founded the brand in 1999, will remain artistic director, she will now be supported by Capucine Safyurtlu, newly appointed style and image director.

Fashion & market editor at French Vogue for several years, and fashion editor at Numéro before that, Capucine Safyurtlu now joins SMCP group, where she will collaborate on design alongside Judith Milgrom, as well as lending her services to the brand’s image in general.

Maje will count on its new collaborator’s keen eye, but clearly also on her network. The high-end and contemporary brand will launch Maje Paris in September, a new luxury line that will push further into an exclusive market positioning.

Since the American fund KKR acquired a majority stake in summer 2013, the group has made several appointments in order to strengthen its organization including Daniel Lalonde, recently named CEO, and Fabio Mancone, appointed head of global branding and business development strategies.
