Maison Rabih Kayrouz opens on luxe London shopping street

Published
Feb 19, 2020

Lebanese designer Rabih Kayrouz has opened his first London flagship on the key luxury shopping street in Mayfair, Mount Street.

The new Maison Rabih Kayrouz London flagship

The Maison Rabih Kayrouz store, at number 24-25, is next door to Christian Louboutin and Roger Vivier, and is a large double fronted space with interiors curated by the designer himself. The four-room showcase currently features the label’s SS 20 ready-to-wear and bridal collections and also includes a couture salon.

This salon was designed to follow the traditional architectural rules of a traditional Lebanese house and is home to the collection that was shown during Paris couture week in January.

Mount Street hosts a large number of high-end stores, including Celine, Balenciaga, Simone Rocha, Nicholas Kirkwood, Roksanda, Linda Farrow and more. But despite the end-to-end luxury, it's a discreet location, while it also has a ‘local neighbourhood’ feel and the heritage buildings on the street add to this.

“I believe in couture as a means of expression.," The designer said. "It's free. It's about emotion, about dreaming. When I make ready-to-wear, I keep the emotion and dreamy aspect of couture. I've always wanted to create for the pleasure of women, I love that clothes can be either protective or seducing, when women play different roles.”

The opening comes at a time when the label is raising its profile globally as it expands beyond its traditional roots in tailoring.
