Maesa, the international business incubator behind beauty brands Kristin Ess and Hairitage, has recently appointed Piyush Jain as CEO. He succeeds Gianni Pieraccioni, who left the company for personal reasons.

Piyush Jain - Maesa

Jain has worked for 23 years at personal care and agri-food giant Unilever. In his most recent role, Jain was global vice-president of Unilever’s beauty and personal care brands, which include among others Dove, Axe and Rexona. Prior to that, he was in charge of the group's portfolio of haircare brands in North America.

In June 2021, he left Unilever to take the helm of personal care brand Hand in Hand. The latter is backed by investment fund Bain Capital, which in March 2019 bought a majority stake in Maesa.

Founded in Paris in 1997 by Julien Saada and Gregory Mager, Maesa operates vertically in the fields of marketing, design, engineering, product development and business operations within the beauty industry, specifically in the haircare, cosmetics, personal care and fragrance segments.

Maesa has eight offices in three continents, and in 2019 it reported a revenue of over $230 million.
