The British brand, founded in 1874, is handing over the creative reins to Carolyn Massey. In her new role as Head of Design, effective beginning of April, Massey will lead a team of eight people and will oversee the design for the Vintage and Heritage collections. She graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2005 and launched her own eponymous menswear brand in 2006. Renowned for her quintessentially British style, the London-based designer has been awarded the Topshop ‘Newgen Men’ prize for the third consecutive season. She has also designed a menswear collection in collaboration with ASOS.

At Lyle & Scott, Carolyn Massey’s work will be seen for the first time in the Fall/Winter 2013 collection. “The brand comes from a place of craftsmanship and innovation within their own factories in Scotland, and this is something I really want to put renewed focus on,” she explained in a press release.

Currently sold in 44 countries, Lyle & Scott wants to accelerate its international development. Today, the brand has a total turnover of 35 million pounds (42 million euros).
