Luxury 'modest' fashion e-tailer The Modist launches, claims to be global first

Published
Mar 8, 2017

The world’s first global online destination for luxury modest fashion launched on 8 March, providing a curated edit of high-end clothing and accessories from brands such as Marni, Alberta Ferretti, Christopher Kane and Mary Katrantzou.

TheModist.com

Created by Ghizlan Guenez, CEO and Founder, The Modist is meant to be a platform for women whose personal dressing choices span all ages, faiths, cultures and ethnicities, and comes as modest dressing is seen as an increasingly important trend for the fashion sector.

In addition to a ready-to-wear and accessories offer from a selection of more than 75 luxury brands, the site is launching a magazine, ‘The Mod’ with shoppable content, seasonal features, styling guidance, moving image segments,  behind-the-scenes excerpts as well as profiles and interviews.

The platform will also include personal styling and shopping tips, an in-house studio and a 24/7 personal concierge built on an enterprise level e-commerce platform with global logistics partnerships. The site offers shipping to over 100 countries.

"Our mission is to build a strong sense of purpose to empower a woman's freedom of choice and to acknowledge how similar women across the world are, despite our diverse backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles -  a relevant conversation at this time," said Guenez.

"We aim to break down preconceived notions while building a community and dialogue that invigorates, informs and celebrates the fashionable, modern, modest woman".

With the modest fashion market projected to be worth $484 billion by 2019, the London and Dubai-based company is planning to provide a one-stop, immersive content and shopping destination for the global luxury modest consumer, added COO Lisa Bridgett.
