Luma Grothe, Lily-Rose Depp and Sara Sampaio: models to keep an eye on this fall
Aug 27, 2015
Fall is almost upon us and models, newbies and superstars alike, will soon be back on the road for photoshoots and runway appearances in the time leading up to the next Fashion Week. Who is about to graduate to supermodel status? Who is going to take the mantle from Gisele Bündchen and Cara Delevingne? Here's a look at the models to keep an eye on this fall.
Victoria's Secret revealed its lineup of new Angels in April, and officially introduced them to the world in July at a special event in Times Square. A veritable pool of perfect measurements, the luxury lingerie giant is a stepping stone for all the girls who dream of becoming the next "it-girl," or the newest "golden girl." Among the newest recruits, three names stand apart: Elsa Hosk, Sara Sampaio and Stella Maxwell.
A fixture on the covers of the biggest fashion magazines in the world, Elsa Hosk is a regular in advertising campaigns (Lancaster, Guess, Avon) and already has a few runway shows to her name, while Sara Sampaio has already posed for Blumarine, Replay, Maybelline and River Island, and has walked for both Moschino and Jeremy Scott.
The third, Stella Maxwell, mostly known for her rebel side and her liaison with Miley Cyrus, should quickly become a household name. This blue-eyed blonde has already been solicited by Alexander McQueen, Ermanno Scervino, H&M, Giles and Jeremy Scott. With a flawless figure and a half-angel,half-demon temperament, Stella Maxwell has everything she needs to become the fashion world's newest favorite.
Luma Grothe, feline beauty
Named as an ambassador for L'Oréal Paris in March, the Brazilian model has only taken a few months to become the darling of some big brands. The 22-year-old with the piercing eyes, both elegant and feminine, already has an impressive CV, with shows for Burberry, Vivienne Westwood, DSquared2 and Versace already under her belt, as well as advertising campaigns for Ermanno Scervino, DSquared2 and L'Oréal Paris. She will also be the face of Paco Rabanne's latest fragrance, Olymea.
Discovered at the age of 16, Luma Grothe has already walked runways all around the world. The Brazilian bombshell is nowhere near her peak yet though, and 2015 will be a decisive year for her as she is already on the verge of making the jump to supermodel status.
Lily-Rose Depp, the up-and-comer
At the tender age of 16, the daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis has already been signed by Chanel to follow in her mother's footsteps and be the face of its new eyewear line. Suffice to say that it's a strong start for her and that it won't be long before ready-to-wear, couture and cosmetics brands come calling.
In addition to being a front row regular -- she has accompanied Vanessa Paradis to many shows -- the assertive adolescent is also very active on social media, often posting photos of herself with some of the most prominent people in the fashion world, including Stella Maxwell and, quite naturally, Karl Lagerfeld.
The stars seem to be in alignment for Lily-Rose Depp to lead the next generation of models that will become tomorrow's 'it-girls.'
