Eveningwear brand Galvan is entering the thriving bridal market with a collection of ready-to-wear and bespoke dresses designed to meet the needs of today’s modern bride.

The 25-piece collection includes several bridal gowns, including slinky party dresses to change into late at night, sleek styles for the civil ceremony and wedding brunch outfits, as well as bridesmaid dresses.

The range also includes styles designed by the brand’s founders for their own ceremony, as well as dresses designed for friends and family. New styles will be added each season to complement the core collection.

“Anna and I wanted to create contemporary yet timeless outfits so that our brides and bridesmaids will be as happy with their look today as they will be when looking back at their photographs in twenty years’ time,” commented Galvan creative director Sola Harrison.

Commercial director Katherine Holmgren added: “We know from our own experience that brides are no longer just looking for a gown. There’s a whole weekend of events to consider, with dress codes ranging from casual to formal, and this is how we’ve built our bridal collection. Versatile and clean, many of the styles can also be worn again for years to come.”

Nine pieces from the collection will launch on Net-A-Porter to mark the new step in Galvan’s journey. The brand has been making wedding gowns on a made-to-order basis for a while, but the new bridal collection takes this effort into a more mainstream category.

Prices for the collection range from £825 for a slip dress to £5,995 for show stopping wedding gowns with 9 metres of corded lace and an embroidered finish. The full collection can be purchased in the brand’s London studio or at the new store in New York, due to open this May, as well as online.
