Linco has strongest year ever on export success
Linco, a British manufacturer of sun and skincare products, is celebrating its most successful year in four decades of trading.
The company, whose top selling brands include Calypso and Re-Gen, said revenue hit £10.37 million in 2018, fuelled by a number of initiatives in international markets.
Export sales now account for 34.4% of the group’s total turnover, rising from 20% in 2010. And to further increase exports, Linco is focusing on introducing Calypso to new markets, expanding its customers base in the Middle East, South America and Africa, and attending all major trade fairs including Cosmoprof Bologna, the PLMA in Amsterdam, and Beautyworld Middle East in Dubai.
Founded in 1979, the Manchester-based firm said its domestic business has been also boosted by new listings with Morrisons, Asda, Wilko and Home Bargains.
Additionally, a factory refit and the creation of a 2,500-sqaure-metre warehouse in Carrington, equipped with state-of-the-art machines, will further boost its production capacity, paving the way for the company to expand its customer base in the UK and abroad.
The expansion push is supported by a £1m capital investment programme, Linco said.
Other Linco brands include Safa, Silkia, Dimples, Cabana Sun, Gorgeous Bronze, Restora, Pedi Care, Cocoa Skin Therapy Oil and Sun Tropic.
