Levi’s has teamed up with Los Angeles-based fashion designer Reese Cooper on a ten-piece collection for Paris Fashion Week.

The collection, launching June 23, was inspired by Cooper’s relationship with the brand starting from his childhood in Atlanta, Georgia getting Levi’s from a farm supply chain, to living as a teenager in London, where he most often encountered Levi’s through specialty fashion collections sold at places like Dover Street Market

Blending high-fashion and heritage, runway style and workwear utility, the collection features jeans, trucker jackets, hoodies, and tees, with a focus on authentic workwear materials and construction showcasing Levi’s influence in both the fashion and workwear space.

In particular, the collection includes a Levi’s Type II trucker and a Levi’s straight fit jean in triple-stitched organic cotton duck canvas in a stunning green or ecru, as well as a patchwork chore coat and straight fit jean in indigo denim.

There’s also a two-pocket hoodie in either green or ecru, both of which feature graphics based on heritage Levi’s back patches, and two graphic pocket tees, with graphics based on the brand’s iconic workwear lineage.

“What we love so much about Reese is how he fuses traditional workwear materials and construction with modern style. There’s a natural connection to our workwear lineage with a creative, sustainable, and fashion forward twist.  This collection takes everything we love about the past and puts it into one beautiful modern package,” said Karyn Hillman, Levi’s chief product officer.

For Cooper, the use of sustainable fabrications was an essential collection element. Hence, every piece is made using either Cottonized Hemp — an innovative technique from Levi’s in which hemp yarn is processed to feel just as soft and comfortable as traditional cotton — or organic cotton.

“You think of Levi’s as being cool, like the classic 501. But on the original back patch, it calls out the product’s durability with the rivets and canvas and denim. I wanted to tie together these two main components the brand was built on. For me, this was an opportunity to essentially make proper heritage workwear with a company that pioneered it,” Cooper said.

The Levi’s x Reese Cooper collection will be available for purchase starting June 22 on Levi.com, the Levi’s app, and Reese-Cooper.com. It will equally be available at the Levi’s x Reese Cooper pop-up shop (14 Rue d'Uzès, 75002 Paris, France) from June 23 to the 26.
