Spotlight on Paula Cademartori at Le Bon Marché. The successful Brazilian designer recently unveiled a pop-up store inside the Paris department store's footwear area, which will showcase her latest shoe collection until 8th October.

Paula Cademartori studied industrial design and she holds a specialist masters degree in fashion accessories, as well as a diploma as a 'young fashion manager' from Milan's prestigious Bocconi University.

She started out at Versace, then five years ago decided to found her own label, beginning with handbags. Her colourful creations, 100% made in Italy with Italian materials, mostly from around Milan where she's based, were an instant hit.

Now 32, the designer has a staff of 15 and reports a revenue of €2.8 million, a figure that is expected to double this year. Her products are distributed in 31 countries, among them Italy, the US, the UK and South Korea, through 200 multi-brand stores.

'My products are popular because they have substance, style and especially because they're comfy and well-made. When you wear high heels, they must feel comfortable. Of course, managing a company isn't always easy, but I never give up and I'm headstrong," she said with a smile.

Last February, Paula Cademartori launched her very first footwear collection, a small selection of which is available exclusively at Le Bon Marché. Her wavy-shaped sandals immediately seduced shoppers, chiefly for their quality. Paula Cademartori's shoes range in price from €400 to €1,000, and her handbags from €600 to €2,000.

From next season, Paula Cademartori's handbag collection will also be available at Galeries Lafayette in Paris.
