LK Bennett launches affordable bridal collection

LK Bennett has launched its first bridal capsule collection as the premium UK fashion retailer continues to broaden its fashion offer.

The spring/summer 2022 collection includes four “elegant” wedding dress styles, including a cream chevron stripe gown, high neck dress with detachable corsage, vintage long sleeve satin gown and 50s-inspired floral lace dress. Prices range from £799 to £1,299. 

The collection also features “timeless” accessories, with a starting price of £49, including a choice of two satin clutch bags, pearl hair clips, headbands, and lace and leather wedding shoes.

The wedding line adds to its occasionwear category which caters for mother of the bride and dresses for guests.

The collection is available now at its 28 stores and online.

The brand’s launch into the bridalwear sector comes as the wedding market holds its collective breath that the UK will be free from pandemic-related restrictions by the time the all-important spring/summer season begins.

LK Bennett will also face competition in the high street section of the market, which now includes ASOS, Phase Eight and H&M. 

And it’s arrival in the sector shows the brand is intent on pushing into new categories to capture more customers and improve sales.

Last summer, LK Bennett also launched its own fashion rental service, LK Borrowed, its first-ever monthly subscription rental service, allowing shoppers “to rent some of our most popular pieces from our collections”.

The company had to battle though some big upheavals throughout the pandemic, including an administration filing, a sale to Rebecca Feng’s Byland (its Chinese franchise partner), a CVA and some store closures.

But in its last trading report, it said the business is “moving swiftly to ensure that the brand is seen as highly regarded with high standards and excellent quality”.
