Kurt Geiger pledges first month of store profits to NHS

Kurt Geiger is set to donate all store profits from the first month of opening to NHS Charities Together, the association of over 250 charitable organisations that support the UK’s National Health Service.

The shoe retailer is planning to reopen 24 stores on 15 June, including branches in Covent Garden, Westfield London and Bluewater and out-of-town outlets at Braintree and Ashford designer outlet centres.

The donations join several Kurt Geiger initiatives to support the NHS during the coronavirus crisis. These included the launch of a charitable We Are One collection, 50% NHS discount on new products and the donation of £100 gift cards to NHS critical care workers.

“We are obviously excited for our stores to start reopening and get back to work,” said chief executive Neil Clifford.

“However, as the ‘new normal’ way of life begins, we want to keep recognising the staggering efforts made by our incredible NHS throughout the pandemic and as such, we have committed to donating 100% of store profits for the first month of reopening to NHS Charities Together’.”

Kurt Geiger said customers can expect perspex screens at cash desks, store staff with gloves and face masks and antibacterial hand gels available at the door.

All customers will be asked to wear disposable pop-socks when trying on footwear and shoes that have been tried on will go into quarantine for 24 hours before returning to the shop floor.
