Kurt Geiger partners with Genesis Luxury for India launch

The British accessories brand has partnered with Reliance Brands’ Genesis Luxury to launch in India, where the brand plans to open its first India store in Delhi this autumn, followed by Mumbai.

The partnership is a long-term retail agreement for India, Kurt Geiger announced on April 30. The agreement gives Genesis Luxury exclusive distribution rights to Kurt Geiger in the country. The first Kurt Geiger store in Delhi will stock the brand’s collection of footwear, handbags, and accessories.

The second store, in Mumbai, will be followed by further expansion across multiple sales channels over the coming five years.

“We are thrilled to be opening our first Kurt Geiger store in India and partnering with such local and trusted experts to build our brand in the market,” said the brand’s international director Steven Sousa, according to the brand’s press release. “We embrace and celebrate, the freedom of expression of the individual who wears us and we look forward to seeing how our new customers in India will interpret our designs through their own unique style.”

“The brand has iconic British style and urban wearability that is sure to resonate with all the fashion leaders of India,” said Genesis Luxury’s founder and president Sanjay Kapoor. “We are excited to announce this partnership.”

Kurt Geiger opened its first store on Bond Street in London, UK, in 1963. The brand is currently under the creative direction of Chief Creative Officer, Rebecca Farrar-Hockley and her design team.
