The new Kurt Geiger store at Hammerson’s giant Bullring shopping centre in Birmingham has opened with the 1,800 sq ft location, which was announced by the firm last month, opening close to key brands Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein.

It’s an important development for the footwear specialist with Birmingham recently being named as Europe’s 14th biggest retail city, so the market for Kurt Geiger there is potentially massive.

Located on the Mid-level East, the new Bullring store is a regional flagship and offers the brand’s full range of designer footwear and accessories including Kurt Geiger London, Carvela and KG Kurt Geiger for women and men. The store interior, designed by an in-house team, features a “clean aesthetic and muted colour palette allowing the products to be showcased on architectural, geometric structures.”

The opening follows a number of key names debuting at The Bullring so far this year, including H&M’s Arket, NYX Professional Makeup and Hugo, with Morphe also set to unveil a new store there soon, we learned in just the past few days. The Hugo opening was only the brand’s second-ever UK store and its first outside of the key London market.

Kurt Geiger’s retail director Ross warden said that the shopping centre “was the obvious choice for our new flagship” in Birmingham.
