Ksubi opens first London store with Carnaby Street debut

Published
Nov 14, 2022

Streetwear brand Ksubi has opened its first London standalone store with a new home on one of the West End’s most popular shopping thoroughfares, Carnaby Street.

Ksubi

It coincides with the launch of a limited-edition collaboration with London-based artist Slawn.

Ksubi CEO Craig King said: “London’s been calling us for some time with its buzzing music and arts communities. We celebrate the triumph of the creative outsider — the rebels doing things their own way and to their own beat. We’ve found our LA and New York stores have become hubs for our crew to hang out and we hope London will be the same.”

The company said it’s “a milestone in the brand’s expansion in the UK and Europe”.

It worked with London-based design consultancy Brinkworth to create a location that has a “rebellious spirit combined with its luxury presence, creating a harmonious contrast between its distressed and premium materials”.

The first floor features an inlaid red marble cash desk and a concrete ceiling that complements grey granite display plinths and custom clothes rails.

There’s also a custom sculpture by Shawn that follows a number of other artist collaborations for the brand. The artwork is inspired by the character from the new limited-edition Ksubi x Slawn collection.

The basement level features an exclusive private shopping space, “created to host Ksubi’s VIP customers, as well as customer personalisation workshops”.

The 23-year old brand — which was founded in Sydney, Australia, as a creative collective — is now a celebrity favourite with A$AP Rocky and Travis Scott among its fans and the US now its primary market.

It was already available physically in the UK prior to the store opening, being sold through Selfridges, Browns Fashion and Liberty. In fact, globally it has expanded from 100 to 300 wholesale accounts in just the past three years with sales tripling as a result.

And this year, it has focused on opening its own stores with new flagships in Miami and Chicago, and now London.
