Kingpins, the international denim trade fair, has unveiled the program for its latest Kingpins24 Flash digital show, which spotlights the Latin American denim market with a two-day event this November.

Running Tuesday, November 9 and Wednesday, November 10, 2021, Kingpins 24 Flash Latin America’s program includes presentations, panel discussions and interview on subjects ranging from sustainability to upcoming trends.

Things get underway on November 9 with a welcome address from Kingpins founder Andrew Olah, Kingpins show managing director and global sales manager Vivian Wang, Kingpins Show technology leader Miguel Sanchez, and Thaísa Peralta of Covolan Denim, one of the event’s major sponsors.

Lead sponsor Tencel then takes over to present its work, before the first panel discussion, which focuses on the issue of water in the denim industry. Other highlights of the first day include The Lycra Company’s presentation of its Lycra Adaptiv fiber and a report on sustainable and eco-friendly denim finishing solutions from CHT Germany GmbH.

The day’s program draws to a close with a session of interviews offering a “360 Insight into Greenwashing,” courtesy of Peralta, Amy Leverton of Denim Dudes, Franky Vangaever from Responsible Textile Innovation, and Fashion Revolution USA’s Shannon Welch.

Wednesday, November 10’s panel discussion focuses on carbon, bringing together Denim Clothing Company’s Elisabeth Oliveira, Tricia Carey of Tencel, and Jimmy Sommers from Cone Denim.

Cone Denim will then be presenting sessions entitled “Nothing Goes to Waste” and “A Look Into Cone Denim Mexico,” before Fabricato S.A. discusses the circular economy and The Lycra Company offers its own perspective on sustainability in the denim industry.

The last sessions of the day before the event’s closing include the unveiling of Whatever Denim’s Good Denim Seal-approved collection for Spring/Summer 2021, and “Designer Talks,” a series of interviews with Martacarmela Sotelo, Lucia Chain, Adrian Gomez, Laura Novik, Lorena Marischal, Julia Stolfo and Sergio Andres Cajiao.

Events on the program of Kingpins24 Flash Latin America will be in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Those interested in watching the show, can register on the Kingpins website.

In September, Kingpins announced that its upcoming physical show in New York, previously scheduled for December, had been canceled due to continued uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic. The digital Kingpins24 Global Show, however, ran as planned from October 19 through 21, and can now be streamed on demand until November 4, 2021.
