Matchesfashion has lost its global fashion director with Natalie Kingham having left the business, despite only being promoted to the role late in 2020. She’s pursuing new opportunities.

And despite the firm saying her departure was cordial, she won’t be replaced, with her duties being taken on by the existing team.

She took up the post in December and was reporting to chief commercial officer Elizabeth von der Goltz, who joined from Net-A-Porter earlier this year.

Kingham joined the firm 11 years ago and during her time had been international womenswear buyer, then fashion and buying director.

She was known for her drive to nurture new designer names at Matches. And she was a driving force in the Innovators programme that expanded last year to offer practical help to younger designers as well as focusing on nurturing creativity.

She was also a vital part of the retailer’s dive into new categories such as homewares and jewellery.

Matchesfashion is currently still seeking a new CEO after the departure this year of Ajay Kavan who hadn’t held the role for long. Executive chair Maureen Chiquet has been overseeing the e-tailer in the interim.
