The artistic director of Dior menswear will join some of today’s most celebrated fashion designers when he receives the inaugural Trailblazer Award at a ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London this Monday.

“If the always on tap to culture zeitgeist is Kim’s industry reputation, his love for travel, international cultures and understanding of consumers further enhance his creative and commercial standing.  Kim’s role as trailblazer in this industry continues to grow and we are very proud he is British born, educated and a great global ambassador for our industry,” commented Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council.

Since being appointed artistic director of Dior for the Men’s Ready-to-Wear and Accessory collections in March 2018, Jones has taken the brand’s menswear ranges global. His first collection, presented at Paris Men’s Fashion Week in June, paved the way for several art installations and landmarks in key fashion cities worldwide. And his designs have been embraced by both the media and consumers, including a growing female clientele.

He has also increased Dior’s art links with collaborations with the likes of Kaws and Hajime Sorayama.

Commenting on the Trailblazer Award, Jones said: “I am very happy to receive this award from the British Fashion Council. This recognition for my work means a lot to me.”

Miuccia Prada, Parley for the Oceans, Vivienne Westwood and Mert & Marcus will also receive awards at the gala evening on Monday.
