Pitti Immagine has chosen two Parisian designers as special guests for the trade show in Florence in January. Pitt Uomo will show menswear designed by Kenzo and Pitti W will have Kitsuné as guest designer.

Kenzo is one of the most interesting phenomena of recent seasons says Pitti Immagine.

“Kenzo is one of the most interesting phenomena of recent seasons and, to be frank, one of the most exciting,” said Pitti Immagine communications and events director Lapo Cianchi. Humberto Leon and Carol Lim , founders of Opening Ceremony, head the design team at Kenzo. “These two designers know their customers, they know how to create immediate and special things and how to build a world around their work. It is a democratic, attractive world.” Last season saw Carven as guest designer at the unmissable menswear event.

Masaya Kuroki Gildas Loaëc will be showing womens wear for the first time.

As for women’s wear, the pair behind Maison Kitsuné will be showing a preview of their Autumn-winter 2013-2014 collection. Starting out as more menswear based, the duo have recently branched out into women’s wear, creating an eclectic collection for “chic and contemporary” women, as described by the event organizer.

Much like the Opening Ceremony co-founders Masaya Kuroki and Gildas Loaëc share a playful and casual approach to luxury by mixing street and sportswear into their collections. More than your average French brands, the two designers are blurring cultural boundaries and playing with contemporary fashion bringing a sense of excitement to the trade show.
