Metro International S.A. "We're delighted to have such an icon as a partner in this edition - Mr. Lagerfeld is so engaged in delivering an exciting and one-of-a-kind experience to our readers," says Maggie Samways, EVP Global Editor in Chief. "Karl's spontaneity and unique character means that this issue will be full of surprises - it will surely be one for the record books!"

As Global Guest Editor, Lagerfeld will spend the day in the Metro Paris newsroom, where he will work with editors, produce illustrations and comment on the day's news for the edition - "The world according to Karl." The special issue will also kick off Metro's exclusive coverage of the four global fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris. All content will run in Metro newspapers around the world.

"I love daily papers and it's fun to be part of one of them just for the day. Metro is on a worldwide scale and it's even more fun," says Karl Lagerfeld.

As part of the Lagerfeld edition, Metro will also give its readers a chance to show their style sense through a global "Look Book" competition, where participants are encouraged to submit their own "fashion statement" to a global website. The competition is open to all readers, one of whom will win a trip to Paris to be the editorial assistant on February 6, and a selection of items from Lagerfeld's collections of clothing, fragrances and accessories.
