Karen Millen to open London pop-up as work and occasionwear demand rises

Published
Feb 23, 2023

Karen Millen will be returning to physical retail next week, opening its first store since its takeover by Boohoo Group the year before the pandemic began.

But before we get carried away with the idea that Boohoo is pivoting from its digital-first focus, the new store is a pop-up and will only be open for the 3-5 March weekend.

It will be situated at 6-10 Great Portland Street, a stone’s throw from London’s key Oxford Street, and will be Karen Millen’s first physical shop since the entire estate was shut down in 2019.

On show in the space will be the brand’s new collections as well as signature styles, including its curve, petite and tall options.

It’s good timing for the brand that has always been known for its occasion pieces and smart workwear. With the occasion dressing season about to kick off and ongoing reports of more workers returning to offices, Karen Millen is likely to see higher demand.

As well as the straightforward product offer, the pop-up will come with a range of services such as bespoke personal shopping appointments, a beauty corner with treatments available, a free small alterations service in a link-up with The Seam, and a bar serving wine.
