Kanye West releases jewelry collection

Published
Apr 8, 2017

Kanye West has unveiled his newest endeavor: a line of Yeezy-branded jewelry, created in collaboration with go-to hip hop jeweler Jacob the Jeweler.

A pendant and necklace from the inaugural Yeezy jewelry collection, 76.8 grams of 18KY gold that retails for$10,010 - Yeezy

The line was first announced by West in September. Interestingly enough, the collection has been under the public's nose since the announcement — Kim Kardashian has been wearing pieces from the collection since September, including high-profile events like the MTV Video Music Awards. Kardashian and West never hinted that the necklaces Kim donned were part of the collection, or even Yeezy-designed at all.

The line was created in partnership with Jacob Arabo, designer of Jacob the Jeweler. Arabo is a much-loved jewelry maker in the hip hop industry, known for creating oversized chains and pendants for everyone from Jay-Z to 50 Cent.

The collection is made up of twelve pieces, spanning from 18-karat gold chains with pendants to gold signet rings and bands. The collection is inspired by Renaissance and medieval Florentine art, featuring portraits of the Virgin Mary and the Christ child, as well as various Donatello angels on stone-like pendants.

Prices are not for the faint of heart: ranging from just over $1,000 for rings to well over $10,000 for necklaces and pendants.

All items are available via the Yeezy website and Jacob the Jeweler’s e-commerce site.
