Global events company Hyve Group has appointment Julie Harris as a non-executive director, effective 2 February. She will take on the role of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Committee Chair, providing board-level oversight of the delivery of its ESG strategy.

Harris has a leadership and management background in the media and information technology sectors and is currently chief executive of Comparison Technologies, a position she’s held since November 2019. She has over 25 years' experience of working in B2B and B2C media and events businesses including formerly leading the now-up-for-sale fashion, beauty and lifestyle trends service WGSN.

Chairman Richard Last said: "Julie will be an asset to the group, bringing over 25 years of industry experience leading strategic and digital transformations. I look forward to working with Julie and benefiting from her expertise, as Hyve continues to grow and diversify its products and portfolio.”

Harris said she was joining Hyve “at an exciting time in the evolution of the business. Out of the impressive transformation programme that Mark [Shashoua, CEO] and his team have successfully delivered over the last five years, has emerged a portfolio of market-leading events, in advanced economies, with a smart digital diversification strategy and I look forward to being part of the next phase of evolution and growth.”

Last month, Hyve, which stages the Pure London, Scoop and Moda fashion trade shows among others, said the company has created a post-Covid “streamlined and de-risked portfolio of global, market-leading events and almost 95% of revenue now in advanced economies”.
